Wellness Check-in 2

I don't feel great about how things went this week. While I did some things well, I really failed in the exercise department. This is so strange for me because I feel super motivated to exercise but then I allow things to get in the way and sabotage things.

Workouts:

Thursday: Walked for 30 minutes and did my core exercises but not at the intensity that I'd like.

Friday: Walked for 30 minutes. Did stretches and core exercises.

Saturday: NOTHING

Sunday: NOTHING

Monday: Walked 30 minutes- was craving more but never got around to it.

Tuesday: NOTHING- drove to Toronto to pick up a friend from the airport. Turned into a fiasco and ended up consuming my entire evening.

Meditation:

I used a guided meditation every night before I went to bed. I think maybe this week I would like to carve  out a few minutes to meditate in the morning and then move on to writing my morning pages.
I don't know if that's realistic but I can give it a go.

Eat a primarily plant-based diet:

I stuck to this perfectly for breakfast and lunch every day this week. Most of my dinners were also plant based with the exception of last night. It was late, I was tired, we had just spent 6  hours in the car and by the time I got home, I just ordered sandwiches from the corner deli. I know I could've ordered a vegetable sandwich but I made a poor choice. I think better planning this week will help me to stick to the plan. Overall it wasn't a terrible week.

Yoga/ stretching:

Nope. Didn't do it!

Sleep:

For the most part I was in bed by 10:30 and got about 6.5- 7 hours of sleep each night except Monday. I just couldn't sleep. I had some caffeine too late in the evening and then my pets and my husband's snoring interrupted my sleep so I ended up with about 4 hours of sleep that night. I'll need to work on this in the upcoming week. Melatonin really seems to help me.

Evening self-care routine:

This was perfect for me this week. I was good about flossing & brushing my teeth. I also cleansed & moisturized my skin before bed every night. This is a huge improvement for me. I've been known to sleep with my makeup on and I can tell the difference in my skin when I take the time in the evening to wash & moisturize my face.

Gratitude journal:

I wrote in my gratitude journal every night before bed and it felt great.

This week's highs:

Meditation! I loved how relaxed it made me feel and how it gave me an overall sense of well-being. Like I said previously, I'm going to try to incorporate some meditation in the morning as well.

This Week's lows:

I just NEED to exercise. I am craving it and yet not making time for it. I will do better this week!!!

Overall an ok week for wellness. I will keep trying.
