When we finally got moving in the late afternoon, we started our 'date' by going through the drive-through at Tim Hortons to grab a coffee and then heading over to Sam's Club. We had a list of things we needed but we took a stroll through the store, talking about changes we wanted to make to the house and how certain things are on our 'someday' list. I'm a firm believer that anything can be turned into a date and dating has more to do with being present, in the moment and connected to one another, more than the actual physical location of the date.
Once we had finished at Sam's Club , we ran across the street to the mall. We needed to order our daughter's contacts for her from LensCrafters.
Then, we decided to go to the World Of Beer. We both ordered flights of beer and split a couple of flatbreads. It was lovely siting in the corner booth, talking, sipping our drinks and eating our food. So nice to just sit next to one another and talk.
There's something to be said for simple, unplanned, unforced dates. This date was incredibly low- key but also It was so lovely just to sit and talk to John. I went home feeling calm, and content. My heart filled with gratitude for the man that I spend my life with.
